Release notes
First pressing of this album, which contains lots of different versions, only available on this pressing.
The biggest difference is the main title track ‘Nightflight To Venus’ which is more than 7 minutes!
‘Rasputin’ has a unique instrumental part within the last verse. Both as medley play continuously without interruption (total actual duration 13:37 min).
This first pressing is easy to distinguish from the other pressings.
On side A, only 4 tracks are visually recognizable; “Nightflight To Venus” & “Rasputin” are not visually separated. Also, a different mix for “He Was A Steppenwolf” & a slightly different version of “Voodoonight”.
Released with a sheet of five detachable postcards, each with a picture of a band member, respectively of the band. It may not include in all batches of this release.
[Notes concerning this particular album, its various versions, and pressings]:
This album came with incorrect tracks’ duration, varying from version to version, and from pressing to pressing. There are 4 different versions (editions) of this album.
The most significant difference is the length of ‘Nightflight To Venus’:
- 1st pressing with 7:11 min (this one),
- 2nd pressing with 5:55 min,
- 3rd pressing with 4:58 min,
- 4th pressing with 4:46 min, as the final and most common one. Some versions have no indication of a duration of 4:46 min, but can be recognized by their runout matrix (as here).
The timings given in tracklist are the actual timings. As on lots of Boney M. releases, this album also came with wrong timings, here printed on label and cover:
