Release notes

Mono version catalog number (LDZ-20461) mistakenly stated on bottom left back cover.

Although the album title suggests a fusion between salsa and vallenato styles, the vallenato component of the LP is limited to the adaptation of already existing vallenato songs by renowned songwriters into salsa style. No actual vallenato elements/instruments like accordion, caja and guacharaca are heard in this LP. Only a salsa band.

The name “Lalo” is mentioned during piano solos, so probably the pianist in this album is .

Several online sources (like this one) say that the album was released in 1970, but release year isn’t stated anywhere on the album.
