About
This is for mislabelled “Münchner Symphoniker” use ONLY (i.e., where the orchestra name is used fictitiously), credited on budget labels, related to e.g. or William Barrington-Coupe.
The practice of bogus orchestras using established names is more likely to occur on fly-by-night labels, where the conductor is a relative unknown. Established labels employing musicians on a session-by-session basis, rather than giving a false credit, would generally invent an orchestra name which sounds respectable and established, but does not really exist, e.g. Vienna Festival Orchestra. Conductor credits like , , or are a red flag for this.
